A (very) short story

She sat there with her headphones on, blasting Nirvana, The Cure, and other classic music that fit her mood. The pain she felt in her soul was almost too much to bear. The loneliness was crushing her, the isolation a suffocating vortex, she was surrounded by people but couldn't connect. It was more than her heart being broken, it was it being ripped out, stepped on, and thrown away, there wasn't even any pieces left to pick up. The lonely girl walking down the street, hood up, head down, not noticing that the people around her were trying to pull her out of the darkness and show her the way back to the realm of the living.
